U.S. announces new $600 million arms package for Ukraine

President of the United States Joe Biden unveiled a new $600 million arms deal to support the Ukrainian military's conflict with Russia.

Using his Presidential Drawdown Authority, which enables the president to approve the transfer of surplus weapons from American stocks, Biden approved the help.

The package includes claymore mines, mine-clearing equipment, night vision goggles, High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) & 105mm artillery shells.

The money will be used for military education and training, according to the White House document.

Since Russia's invasion, Washington has provided the government in Kiev with security aid totaling around $15.1 billion.
